About Dottir
Founder, Stacey Hegarty
Dottir started from my own experience.
I originally worked as a mental health counsellor, supporting people through some of the hardest times in their lives. But when I was struggling with my own mental health, it was running that really helped me. What started as a way to clear my head quickly became a lifeline.
The more I ran, the stronger I felt, not just physically but mentally too. It helped me find myself again. Over time, I realised this was how I wanted to help other women, so I retrained as a personal trainer.
There was no gym in the beginning, no fancy studio, just me on a field running bootcamps with a group of women who showed up for themselves and for each other. It was real, supportive, and built from the ground up.
That’s how Dottir began.
Since then, it has grown into a full wellbeing centre offering strength and fitness classes, counselling, reiki healing, massage, and a space where women can come exactly as they are.
Community has always been at the heart of everything we do. As well as our classes and therapies, we also run free programmes for women affected by child loss, miscarriage, trauma, and abuse, because I know how important it is to have support around you when life feels heavy.
Dottir is about strength in every sense of the word, physical, mental, and emotional. More than anything, it’s a place where women can feel supported, understood, and never alone.
